Gazprom Export Marks 15 Bcm of Sales via Its Electronic Sales Platform

Since the launch of the Electronic Sales Platform (ESP), Gazprom Export has sold more than 15 bcm of natural gas via the ESP. At the moment, more than 60 companies use this instrument. More than a half of the volumes sold on ESP are delivered on the German Gaspool platform. Currently there is a range of contracts with various delivery periods available on the ESP. Among them, the ‘day-ahead’, ‘month-ahead’ and ‘quarter-ahead’ are the most demanded.

“Our new dynamic trading tool, the Electronic Sales Platform, is proving to be an effective instrument and is showing good results. Within the ESP trading, we are planning to offer our clients new products with longer delivery periods: season, calendar year and gas year. At the same time, we are aiming to further promote contracts with shorter delivery periods. In the future, we are planning to develop trading using time spreads, which will allow us to further enhance the efficiency of the ESP, " – Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Director General of Gazprom Export Elena Burmistrova said.

Background
The Electronic Sales Platform is designed to physically sell natural gas to the European consumers, in addition to supplies under existing contracts. Gas sales through the ESP started at the end of September, 2018.
