The Solitaire will spend about a month constructing one of the two  approximately 100-kilometres-long sections in the Russian territorial sea. 

All activities are performed in accordance with the national permits granted by responsible authorities.

Construction works are proceeding well and according to plans also at the Russian and German landfalls, the entry and exit points of the pipeline system. Furthermore, offshore pipelay is on-going in the Swedish Exclusive Economic Zone by the Pioneering Spirit. Over 1,100 kilometres of the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline have been laid in total so far.

1,000 Kilometers of the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline Has Been Laid Thu, 11 Apr 2019 17:59:36 +0300 A total of 1,000 kilometres of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline has been laid in Finnish, Swedish and German waters by April, 11, as reported by project company. Twenty vessels are currently being engaged in the project, with nearly 1,300 people working on board.

Last week another milestone was reached. The project’s coating and logistics contractor Wasco completed concrete weight coating of its share of the steel pipes in its plant in Kotka, Finland, where approximately 101,000 steel pipes have been coated.

Russia's First LNG Plant Marks a Ten-Year Anniversary Mon, 18 Feb 2019 18:04:11 +0300 February 2019 marks the 10th anniversary since Russia’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant of the Sakhalin-2 project was launched. In 2010, the plant reached its full design capacity of 9.6 million tons of LNG per year. Its further optimization allowed to increase output by another 20%.

Today, LNG from Sakhalin strengthens Russia’s position as a major energy producer and provides about 3.6% of the global LNG trade and about 4.8% of the LNG market in the Asia-Pacific region.

The “Sakhalin Energy” company is the operator of the Sakhalin-2 plant. The company supplies liquefied gas to Japan, South Korea, China, India, Thailand, Taiwan and Kuwait. Sakhalin Energy’s shareholders are: Gazprom PJSC (50% plus 1 share), Royal Dutch Shell (27.5% minus 1 share), Mitsui (12.5%) and Mitsubishi (10%).

A Record Volume of 58.8 Bcm Was Transported through Nord Stream Gas Pipeline in 2018 Mon, 21 Jan 2019 17:19:14 +0300 In 2018, Nord Stream AG transported 58.8 bcm of gas to the consumers in Europe. This represents the highest utilization rate of Nord Stream gas pipeline over its commissioning. 

From the start of operations in November 2011 (Line 1) and October 2012 (Line 2) until the end of 2018, a total amount of 264.1 bcm was transported via this pipeline route. 

The implementation of Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline continues in accordance with the schedule. To date, more than 400 km of the pipeline has been built.
