Production of natural gas started from Wingate platform

German company Wintershall in partnership with Gazprom Group commenced production of natural gas on the Wingate platform in the UK North Sea on October 16.

The companies expect an initial production of 1.5 million cubic meters of natural gas per day. The second production well is planned to be launched next year, and it will increase production to 3 million cubic meters of gas per day.

There are investments of more than 50 million euros in the Wingate project.

Production through the Wingate platform is Wintershall's first gas production as an operator. Wintershall holds a 49.5% in the project. Also involved in the project are Gazprom Germania GMBH (20%), Exxon Mobil (15.5%) and Gas-Union GMBH (15%).
