Finnish Sector of Nord Stream 2 Completed

Installation of both strings of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline has been completed in the Exclusive Economic Zone of Finland. The second string of the Finnish section, which is 374 kilometer long, has been laid on the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The pipelaying of the first string of the Nord Stream 2 in the Finnish waters was completed in April 2019.

During the pipelaying environmental impact of construction activities was properly monitored. According to researches, the impact was minor, local and of short duration.

As up to date, more than 1,800 kilometers of the pipeline have been laid in the territorial waters of Germany, Sweden, Finland and Russia. The works on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline now proceed as scheduled.
