Construction and Operation Permit for Nord Stream 2 Granted by Sweden

The “Nord stream 2 AG” company has received permission to build and operate the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Sweden. The permit was granted by the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation, which is in charge of the application. This was announced by Mikael Damberg, the head of the Ministry, on 7 June.

Pipe laying of this section in the Swedish EEZ is scheduled to start later this year.

The permits required for the construction and operation of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline have already been obtained in Germany and Finland. The national permitting procedures in Russia and Denmark, other countries along the route, are proceeding as planned.
