Engineering designs of the South Stream gas pipeline route through Serbia conducted

Another stage of technical evaluation on the laying of the South Stream gas pipeline in the territory of Serbia has been successfully completed.

The document, developed by the Scientific & Technical Centre of NIS, analyzes the various options for laying of the gas pipeline, pipe bends and accompanying facilities, in accordance with the already approved gas transport scheme. The study includes the selection of a suitable construction territory taking into account climatic, ecological, geographical, geological and hydrogeological factors that influence the choice of a route. Analysis of the optimal gas pipeline route through Serbia, from entrance at Bulgaria or Romania to exist at Hungary was carried out.

Scientific & Technical Centre of NIS acted as the subcontractor of work under a contract signed between NIS and the Russian company Giprospetsgaz.
