Message from Alexey Miller on 25th anniversary of Gazprom

Dear colleagues,

Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the 25th anniversary of Gazprom.

In a quarter of a century, we have done a tremendous amount of work, in the results of which we can deservedly take pride.

We have built the foundation for Russia’s gas industry development in the 21st century, making Gazprom a leader in the global energy market.

We have created a gigantic gas production center in the Yamal Peninsula. Eastern Russia’s gas sector is taking shape as well. The bountiful riches of those regions will be the main sources of gas for consumers in Russia and abroad in the decades to come.

We are linking the new gas production centers with consumers via cutting-edge, unique gas mains. We are rearranging gas flows for better efficiency and reliability. To that end, we are moving on from the obsolete central gas transmission corridor to the increasingly vital and high-tech northern route stretching from Yamal to the Gulf of Finland.

From there, at the entry point to Europe through the Baltic Sea, we have laid the Nord Stream export gas pipeline, which has been in great demand by consumers. Gazprom is the largest supplier of gas to the European and Turkish markets. As their need for Russian gas continues to rise, we break new records in gas exports. Since the upward trend is expected to persist in the future, we are already working on new gas transmission projects. We are building the TurkStream gas pipeline in the Black Sea. The Nord Stream 2 project is underway.

We are about to open a new chapter in the history of Russian pipeline gas exports. On December 20, 2019, we will start our first-ever gas supplies to China — the world’s most promising gas market. In the next 30 years, our eastern production centers will provide over 1 trillion cubic meters of gas to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline.

We have entered the liquefied natural gas market. Russia’s first LNG plant is operational on Sakhalin Island. The Gazprom Group’s LNG has already been delivered by sea to as many as 15 countries across the globe.

We are committed to our mission of providing Russian consumers with reliable gas deliveries. Regardless of the season, we supply as much gas as they need. We are the only domestic supplier capable of promptly increasing gas production and meeting peak demand during cold winters. Year after year, we raise the number of natural gas consumers through our ambitious countrywide gasification program. This significantly improves the quality of life in Russian regions.

Gazprom’s monumental projects give a powerful impetus to Russian science and industry. The pipe sector is a case in point: thanks to years of cooperation with Gazprom, we now have world-class products. Today, we buy 100 per cent of our pipes from Russian factories.

We have also been successful in the related sectors. Gazprom Neft is the most efficient of the Russian vertically integrated oil companies. Gazprom Energoholding is the largest heat and electricity producer in the domestic heating sector.

Gazprom’s accomplishments are based on the daily teamwork of thousands of our employees. Professionalism, peerless dedication, and exceptional commitment have always been our modus operandi. We handle tasks others consider insurmountable, and we invariably succeed. I have no doubt it will remain that way in the future.

Dear colleagues,

Thank you for your work. I wish you and your loved ones good health, well-being, and all the best.

Happy anniversary!
